Perez Celis fell in love with abstraction very early in his artistic practice, a style he would retain to the end of his career. He lived in many countries around the world, and each enacted a cultural influence on his artwork. Perez's work became more dynamic and loose during his stay in New York City, absorbing and reflecting the energy of the city.
