Hector Tadeo seeks to portray the issue of overpopulation through symbols and color. His pieces are composed of the overlay of symbols like crosses, circles, little houses, roses, and shapes that resemble airplanes. They all allude to the growing cities, the changes in migration, and the problems with housing. A special icon for him is that of roses, which he uses to represent femininity, an ode to his mother, who worked as a seamstress, and who would sew rose appliques in some of the clothes she made. "Untitled VII" is built from a tonality of earth colors and greens, almost resembling a jungle, a crowded one that seems about to burst into the rest of the composition.
