Starting with a preference for abstraction, Ignacio Espla then moved on to naturalism/realism after moving to America, especially when he settled in Panama. He started to represent the natural environment of the Central American country in his works, and though realistic, the essence of abstraction was still present in his works. "Dos Arcos" captures the essence of blooming flowers, white set against an intense red with subtle textures to add depth and balance to the composition.
