One of the Dominican Republic's most influential artists, Jose Perdomo knew that his calling was to make art by the time he was four years old. He dedicated his work to the representation of Taino culture in his art since the 1980s when he returned to the island after realizing studies in the United States, where he was under the tutelage of figures like Robert Motherwell.
